E. Jakarta Roads are Already Sterile from Campaign Props

Entering the last day of the calm period, the majority of roads in the East Jakarta area are clean of election campaign props (APK).

Thus far, 94,004 props have been removed

East Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Budhy Novian expressed that even though the protocol roads and neighborhood roads were starting to become sterile, his party would continue to hold sweeping until tonight. It aims to ensure that no more props ahead of the voting, Wednesday (2/14) tomorrow.

"Thus far, 94,004 props have been removed. We will keep doing sweeping to ensure that the area is completely sterile from props," he expressed, Tuesday (2/13).

Of 94,004 props, 18,685 were banners, 10,607 were billboards, 29,201 billboards, 19,757 flags, 6,296 pamphlets or stickers, and 9,450 others.

"If there are still props that haven't been cleaned, we urge residents to report them to us via the East Jakarta Satpol PP complaint number at 08119998911," he expressed.

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) Head, Muchtar Zakaria added that to remove props, around 55 personnel and one firestick truck, as well as 10 units of light rescue.

"This firestick truck can reach props installed at a height of 15-17 meters," he expressed.

He added props installed at a height of 20 meters were easier for personnel to reach by climbing.
